A note from Dr. Bradley R. Hall
My commitment to your result extends beyond the operating room.
I take great care in planning and closing every incision, but that is only the beginning. Your body continues to build and reorganize collagen for months. Scar care is an essential part of supporting that process—and your final result.
Exceptional aftercare means understanding what your healing skin needs. Silicone strips help reduce moisture loss and can soften and flatten raised scars. ALASTIN ReFORM & RePAIR Complex helps address post-surgical swelling and bruising, while ( plated ) supports hydration and skin quality. Vitamin E preparations or Bio-Oil may help soften dry, healed skin and provide lubrication for approved scar massage.
Healing also requires support from within. Adequate protein supplies the building blocks for tissue repair, while sun protection helps limit scar discoloration. When appropriate, ProFractional lasers stimulate collagen remodeling to improve scar texture, and other laser treatments may address persistent redness or pigmentation. Each has a role, with timing tailored to your recovery.
Give Your Body Grace—and Time
A scar’s appearance in the early weeks is not its final appearance. Fading and softening happen gradually over many months, and maturation can take a year or longer. Expecting a nearly invisible scar early in recovery can make normal healing feel like a setback.
Trusting the process also means staying connected with your team. We’re here to explain what’s expected, assess changes, and adjust your care when needed.
Give your body grace, stay consistent with your care, and allow your result the time it deserves.
