Rhinoplasty:

The Art of Facial Harmony and Balance

Your nose is the central anchor of your face. When it is in harmony with your other features, it goes unnoticed, allowing your eyes and smile to take center stage. At The Plastics Atelier in Omaha, Nebraska, Dr. Brad Hall specializes in Rhinoplasty—a procedure that blends meticulous surgical precision with an artistic eye to create a nose that looks natural and complements your unique facial structure.

Why Consider Rhinoplasty?

Whether you have been self-conscious about your nose since your teenage years or have suffered a trauma that altered its shape or function, rhinoplasty can be life-changing.

Dr. Hall works with patients to address a variety of concerns:

  • The Bridge: Removing a prominent "hump" or narrowing a wide bridge.

  • The Tip: Refining a bulbous, drooping, or overly upturned nasal tip.

  • Symmetry: Correcting a crooked nose resulting from a previous injury or deviated septum.

  • Proportion: Adjusting the size of the nose so it better fits the proportions of the forehead, chin, and cheeks.

  • Breathing: Improving airflow by correcting internal structural issues like a deviated septum.

The Atelier Approach: Bespoke Rhinoplasty

The word "Atelier" means an artist’s workshop. This is the philosophy Dr. Hall brings to every surgery. There is no "standard" nose at our practice; every procedure is custom-tailored to the patient’s ethnic background, gender, and aesthetic goals.

Techniques: Open vs. Closed Rhinoplasty

Dr. Hall will determine the best surgical approach based on the complexity of the changes needed.

Incision Location

Open: A tiny incision across the columella (the tissue between the nostrils).

Closed: All incisions are made entirely inside the nostrils.

Visibility

Open: Provides maximum visibility and access to the nasal structure.

Closed: No external scars; more limited access to the nasal tip.

Best For

Open: Complex reshaping, structural grafting, and revision cases.

Closed: Minor bridge reductions or subtle refinements.

Dr. Hall's Choice

Open: Preferred for precision and creating predictable, long-lasting results.

Closed: Reserved for specific, less complex structural changes.

Form Meets Function: Functional Rhinoplasty

It is not enough for a nose to look beautiful—it must also breathe well. Dr. Hall is highly experienced in Septorhinoplasty, which addresses:

  • Deviated Septum: Straightening the wall between the nasal passages.

  • Turbinate Reduction: Reducing the size of the internal structures that can block airflow.

  • Nasal Valve Collapse: Strengthening the sides of the nose to prevent them from "caving in" during inhalation.

Your Journey to a New Profile

The Consultation

During your visit to our Omaha office, Dr. Hall will perform a detailed internal and external examination of your nose. We will discuss your goals in depth, ensuring we are aligned on a look that is both beautiful and achievable.

Recovery & Results

  • The First Week: You will wear a small splint on the bridge of your nose for about 7 days. Most patients experience some bruising around the eyes, which typically fades quickly.

  • Return to Life: Most patients return to work or school after the splint is removed (1 week). You should avoid strenuous exercise or contact sports for 4 to 6 weeks.

  • The Final Reveal: While you will see a significant change as soon as the splint comes off, the nose is unique in that it holds onto subtle swelling for a long time. Your "final" result will continue to refine over 12 to 18 months.
